Multicomponent Cathode Materials for Lithium-ion Batteries

A study of cathode materials used in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) is presented. The primary focus is on multicomponent single-phase systems, namely solid solutions, such as Li- CoO2-LiNiO2-LiMnO2. Although there is a substantial amount of data in this field, there are still unresolved problems regarding the alterations in the valence states of transition metals during cyclic charge-discharge operations. The need for further study in the area of composite cathode materials is discussed, particularly in exploring the use of interphase and grain-boundary amorphized structures to enhance the kinetic properties of lithium-ion batteries (LIB). The importance of conclusion highlights the significance of doing additional research in these domains with the objective of creating novel and effective cathode materials is emphasized. This research aims to enhance the performance and stability of lithium-ion batteries throughout their regular usage.
