STEWART TREVES SYNDROME-A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS
Angiosarcoma is a highly malignant soft tissue tumor and this developing post-chronic lymphedema is also known as Stewart Treves Syndrome. Early detection is crucial since it might develop from a spreading bruise to an ulcer in the future. The primary diagnostic tools are immunohistochemistry and histopathology. Treatment ranges from radical surgery to immune checkpoint inhibitors. We present a case of an 82-year-old woman, previously diagnosed with pemphigus and treated with cyclophosphamide, who developed angiosarcoma complicating chronic lymphedema of the left lower limb. The lymphedema in turn was a result of a radical excision done for bladder carcinoma.
