A Study of the ‘Ohunwan' Using Text Mining Analysis

The purpose of this study was to understand the social perception of Ohunwan post-COVID-19. Sometrend, a big-data analytic platform, was used to quantify ‘#Ohunwan’, and performed relevant keywords analysis and sentiment analysis. We collected a total of 268,775 cases from Blogs, Instagram, Twitter, and News from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023. The analysis results are as follows: First, Ohunwan began being mentioned on social media in January 2022, with 131,537 cases in 2022 and 137,238 cases in 2023. Second, the most popular keyword in 2022 were weight training, followed by exercise, weight loss, and women. In 2023, weight training were the most popular keywords, followed by exercise, women, and weight loss. Finally, positive sentiments such as “Ohunwan is good”, “fighting”, and “managing” were high, at 80%, while negative ones such as “cold after exercise”, “tough”, and “stress” were found to be 16%. These results show that Ohunwan is newly established as a culture of participation in leisure sports among the MZ generation after the start of COVID-19. However, Ohunwan is focusing on an extroverted body image. These findings provide an empirical basis for the motor behavior patterns of Generation MZ. On the other hand, editing and posting body images of yourself can raise fears about other people’s judgment about your body image.
