The Mediating Role of Tripartite Efficacy in the Relationship between Relatedness Support and Sport Commitment in the Recreational Sports Club

This study aimed to confirm the mediating effect of tripartite efficacy(relation-inferred self-efficacy, other efficacy, self-efficacy) between the relationship of relatedness support and sport commitment in the recreational sports club. We conducted online and offline questionnaires to recreational sports club participants. Finally, 291 data were analyzed through frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and PROCESS Macro by the SPSS and AMOS statistical programs. As a result, first, it was found that relatedness support had a positive effect on sports commitment. Second, in the relationship between relatedness support and sport commitment, only other efficacy played a significant positive mediating role as a single mediator, and relation-inferred self-efficacy and self-efficacy did not show a significant single mediating role, respectively. Third, in the relationship between relatedness support and sport commitment, it was found that the pathway through relation-inferred self-efficacy and self-efficacy showed a significant positive mediating effect. On the other hand, the path through other efficacy and self-efficacy didn’t show a significant mediating effect. These results imply that tripartite efficacy is an important mediator of relatedness support and sport commitment.
