THE POETICS OF EXILE
The novel Kitelepítés (Exile) by András Visky dissolves borders between confession, declaration of faith, and memory in the reconstruction of family history in an original way. Personal speech is spoken in poetic prose. The segmentation results in a dramatic staging, and the author’s dramaturgical experience prevails in the structural arrangement. A new prose genre has been created. The form of the novel developed for the narrator’s testimony requires in-depth analysis, and the aim of the paper is to contribute to this effort with some viewpoints.
