Development of GPS Receive Antenna with Anti-Jamming Capabilities

This project focuses on designing a GPS signal receiver antenna optimized for compact applications, specifically for use in drones or UAVs. The design integrates anti-jamming features and allows dynamic alteration of the antenna's radiation pattern through phase adjustments across its elements or ports. Operating within the L1 band (1575.42 MHz) of the GPS frequency spectrum, the design process begins with selecting a patch antenna for its high gain and wide-angle reception capabilities. The initial model is a single element tuned to 1.575 GHz, simulated using CST Studio Suite 2024. In the final phase, the antenna incorporates at least four elements to enable beamforming, beamsteering, and null steering, crucial for detecting and mitigating jamming threats. The antenna is designed to achieve a resonant frequency of 1.575 GHz, with all radiation pattern changes carefully documented. The simulation and measurement results, thoroughly analyzed in the thesis, demonstrate that the project successfully meets its objectives, advancing GPS signal receiver antenna design for UAV applications.
