O PAPEL DO ENFERMEIRO PARA OS CUIDADOS DO DIABETES MELLITUS GESTACIONAL EM USF DO MUNICÍPIO DE FEIRA DE SANTANA – BAHIA

During pregnancy, women will be susceptible to the occurrence of several hormonal adaptations that can interfere with carbohydrate metabolism, which may result in the triggering of GDM. In this sense, the objective was to describe nursing care for quality care for women with GDM in primary health care. This study is a descriptive literature review, selecting articles indexed in the VHL and LILACS databases, using the descriptors: Diabetes; Enfermagem; Gravidez and its correspondents in the English language between the years 2017 and 2023, excluding those that did not fit the proposed theme. The results of this review demonstrate the need to understand the prevention and control of GDM to humanize care and make the services provided increasingly beneficial to pregnant women. Therefore, promoting, curing and improving health, developing strategies to mitigate complications and proposing ways to prevent this metabolic disorder, referring pregnant women to appropriate levels of monitoring based on their risk classification are the responsibilities of nursing professionals to pregnant women with GDM.
