BIOCOSMÉTICOS AMAZÔNICOS: A UTILIZAÇÃO DO AÇAÍ (EUTERPE OLERACEAMART.) EM ESTÉTICA E DERMATOLOGIA
Introduction: This study aims to investigate the potential of açaí as an active ingredient in dermatological products, exploring its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. General objective: to investigate the potential of açaí as an active ingredient in dermatological biocosmetics and its therapeutic properties for skin health. Methodology: this is a systematic review of the literature following the PRISMA methodology. The research was conducted between August and October 2024, using databases such as PubMed, SciELO and LILACS, with descriptors related to the use of açaí in biocosmetics and dermatology. Results: 147 studies were identified, of which 122 underwent initial screening. After applying the PRISMA criteria, 45 studies were fully evaluated and 12 were selected for detailed analysis. The results of the study show that açaí has a high content of anthocyanins, flavonoids and fatty acids, responsible for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties, ideal for dermatological cosmetics. These biomolecules help in the treatment of conditions such as psoriasis, acne and premature aging, in addition to promoting skin hydration and elasticity. Açaí is used in various pharmaceutical forms, such as extracts and creams, demonstrating versatility in the biocosmetics market. Conclusion: Açaí has shown to be a promising ingredient in biocosmetics and dermatology, due to its therapeutic properties. However, the effectiveness of açaí depends on the pharmaceutical form used, suggesting the need for standardization of extracts and more clinical studies to evaluate their applications and benefits in different skin types.
