IMPORTÂNCIA DA TRANSFERÊNCIA EMBRIONÁRIA EQUINA: REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
The biotechnology of equine embryo transfer is crucial in veterinary medicine, especially in equine reproductive management. The objective of this work is to describe the advantages of this procedure when using elderly donors or those with problems that prevent pregnancy. The technique involves collecting viable embryos from donor mares and implanting them into recipient mares. Success depends on the appropriate management of donors and recipients, synchronization of the estrous cycle, embryo quality and laboratory conditions. Advantages include increasing the production of foals per donor mare in a year, preserving the genetics of valuable animals, and allowing mares with reproductive problems or elderly mares to contribute genetically without the risks of pregnancy. The research focuses on the importance and advantages of using embryo transfer in mares with pregnancy problems. The answer includes increasing reproductive efficiency, genetic preservation and health of mares, highlighting the scientific and technical advances that make this biotechnology an indispensable practice in modern veterinary medicine.
