Analyzing Analog Signal Transmission over Optical Fibers using Pulse Width Modulation
Nowadays, digital technology has developed new techniques of signal processing. In this work, we studied the analog signal transport through optical fiber using PWM modulation. For this, we present a comparative analysis of our study on methods of analog signal processing (conversion and restoration) using digital or analog technology. Here we have presented conversion methods using digital circuits and circuits based on analog signal processing using FPAAs. Using FPAAs creates an opportunity to increase the degree of integration of signal processing solutions and minimize the electronic circuits. In the work, we used standard optical fiber digital communication interfaces. From the experimental results, we note that FPAA technology can be used alongside digital technology in the processing of analog signals, increasing processing speed and decreasing the integrated circuit area.
