Design and Implementation of Computer Controlled Electro-Mechanical Thruster for UUVs
A new thruster prototype is developed to work with Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) from end-to-end. This new thrusting system includes both a thruster which is called ETR200 which is an upgrade to the former ETR100 model and the Electronic Speed Controller (ESC). Unlike other existing thrusters in the market, ETR200 design takes into consideration compact size that allows much flexible installation inside the UUV. Performance and functional profiles for ETR200 shows better performance compared to other widely used thrusters where ETR200's drag force is less than T200 by 11.56±15%, less than BTD150 by 33.61±8% and less than ETR100 by 42.06±14%.
