Optimizing Relay Node Placement and Energy-Efficient Routing in Partitioned Radiant Sentinel Systems using Whale Optimization
The smooth functioning of Sensor nodes in Radiant Sentinel Systems (RSS) may be interrupted by unexpected damage or battery depletion, leading to the division of RSS into numerous networks. To regain wireless connectivity in partitioned RSS, new relay nodes need to be added. This operation is called relay node installation. RSS places significant importance on energy conservation and prolonging the lifespan of the network by using energy-efficient routing. However, it is uncommon to find extant work that simultaneously addresses the difficulties of relay node placement and energy-efficient routing in RSS. The investigation begins by creating mathematical models for each obstacle. It is widely recognized that there is a zone in RSS that cannot be reached, making it unfeasible to install sensor nodes. This poses a major challenge in determining where to deploy relay nodes. This task involves translating the wireless communication path length in order to enable energy-efficient routing. In order to address the inherent difficulty of the problem, which is characterized by asynchronous polynomial (AP) complexity, a whale optimizer technique is utilized. Using the whale optimization method, the paper compares and contrasts three different adaptive techniques. Following that, comprehensive mathematical simulations are performed on the RSS approach that has been proposed. A thorough analysis and discussion are provided to outline the benefits of the suggested technique in lowering power difficulties within RSS and addressing the AP-hard challenge of base station placement.
