ENTEROPARASITOSES MAIS FREQUENTES NA FAIXA ETÁRIA DE 0 A 12 ANOS DE IDADE: Uma revisão integrativa da literatura
Enteroparasitosis or intestinal infections represent an important public health problem, especially among countries with lower levels of development and which have more precarious sanitary conditions. Among children up to 12 years of age, whose characteristics may contribute to the contamination of these parasites, a higher prevalence is observed, which justifies the importance of understanding the most common enteroparasites in this population group. The present study aimed to identify the main enteroparasitosis that affect children aged 0 to 12 years. The research method was a narrative and integrative review of the literature, which allowed us to verify that, according to the research context, different parasites were identified, highlighting protozoa, mainly Blastocystis hominis, Endolimax nana, Giardia lamblia and Entamoeba coli. From the literature review, it was possible to identify the parasites with the highest prevalence among the researched population, favoring the adoption of preventive measures appropriate to the specificities of each type of parasite. It is also highlighted, as verified in the studies investigated, that certain contexts favor contamination by enteroparasitosis, which reinforces the need to invest in better health conditions for individuals in unfavorable socioeconomic and health contexts, guaranteeing better conditions for these children.
