Tricuspid valve replacement with bioprostheses: Which type fits best?
Although tricuspid valve replacement (TVR) is seldom required, the type of prosthesis to be employed when the tricuspid valve is not considered reparable still represents a matter of debate. Zwischenberger and colleagues,1 in their recent article, provide important data on the comparison between porcine and pericardial bioprostheses for TVR. I read this paper with interest, but I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of specific data that could have improved considerably the strength of their study.
