Neonatal hypothermia
Hypothermia in newborns is a violation of heat metabolism, which is accompanied by a decrease in body temperature below 36.4 °C and manifested by multisystem disorders of the central nervous system, cardiovascular, respiratory, and other systems of the child’s body. Hypothermia occurs when the axillary temperature decreases to less than 36.4 °C in a newborn. It can develop quickly, within 1–2 minutes, with a loss of temperature at a rate of 0.4 °C. It is a serious complication that requires quick and intensive correction; in the absence of necessary medical care, it can lead to irreversible changes, and even death.
