The relationship between both biomarkers miR-21 and CA15-3 values and the clinic-pathological features of breast cancer Iraqi patients
One of the most deadly diseases that affect women globally is breast cancer. A variety of factors contribute to the onset and spread of the disease. Major of them involve changes in the expression of certain genes, growing evidence suggesting that (microRNAs) can control expression of certain genes and can act as recent technique for predicting and diagnosing BC patients. The objective of study is the correlations of both tumor markers with clinic pathological features of BC patients by circulating serum marker miRNA-21 expression measured by using the quantitative real time-PCR technique in 50 patients at various ages, stages, grades, histological types and molecular subtypes of BC patients. In the meantime, electro-chemo luminescence immunoassay (ECLIA) techniques is used to quantify the levels of CA 15-3. The results show higher statically significant association with miRNA-21 level than only low statically significant related to CA15-3 biomarker levels consistently with BC disease progression higher at advanced stage (IV), higher grade (III) at tumor type (IDC) and luminal A subgroups.
