Screening and Identification of Cellulolytic Bacillus tequilensis Strain BEEDLCB13 in Cotton Crop Compost from Beed, Maharashtra
In the era of sustainable agricultural practices, microbial solutions offer trustworthy path for enhancing soil health and crop production.Present study highlights the isolation, characterization, and identification of cellulolytic Bacillus tequilensis from local cotton crop compost collected from Beed, Maharashtra.Bacillus species are popular for their cellulolytic potential, which plays a crucial role in break down complex plant materials into simpler compounds, promoting organic matter recycling and nutrient availability in soil.Using selective enrichment and biochemical assays, we successfully isolated a potent cellulolytic strain of B. tequilensis.Morphological, biochemical, and molecular characterization through 16S rRNA gene sequencing was carried out to confirmed its identity. The nucleotide sequence of 16S rRNA gene from B. tequilensis isolated in present study has been deposited at NCBI -Nucleotide/ GenBank under the accession no.PQ164081.This study focused the potential of B. tequilensis to degrade cellulose, a critical step for the decomposition of agricultural waste in compost. The results demonstrate its potential to contribute to organic matter turnover and soil fertility, which is vital for sustainable farming practices. The implications of utilizing native Bacillus strains for accelerate compost quality and triggering eco-friendly crop cultivation are significant. Our findings highlighted the importance of integrating microbial inoculants in agricultural management, particularly in regions like Beed, where soil health and sustainable farming are crucial.Present study not only paves the way for future exploration of microbial-based fertilizers but also aligns with the global push towards greener agricultural systems.
