UniPúnguè's actions constitute a major educational innovation, at a time when some of its collaborators have been reflecting on the strategies that can be adopted in favor of building local knowledge that will actually serve to improve the quality of life within the community. The aim of this study is to reflect on the strategies adoptable by Púnguè University in offering social pedagogy for building local knowledge that is relevant to integral development in Mozambique. In terms of methodology, this is a qualitative, hermeneutic type of research, whose data collection techniques are interviews and documentary analysis. The conclusion of this study is that the education of community individuals, who are essentially and markedly qualified as researchers and social educators for the integral development of communities, constitutes the best strategy adoptable by Púnguè University in offering higher education in social pedagogy.
