Modelagem na/da Educação do Campo e suas relações com a Educação Popular de Paulo Freire
This work presents and deepens some of the discussions carried out in the context of doctoral research that deals with the articulation between Mathematical Modeling and Rural Education. In this way, we seek here to highlight some intertwinings of Rural Education and Modeling Math with the ideals of the Popular Education perspective proposed by Paulo Freire that were noticed during the investigative process. Based on the relationships/approximations found between these two perspectives, especially in terms of the pedagogical principle of the school's role as a trainer of subjects linked to a project of human emancipation, we recognize the potential for developing Modeling Math activities in the context of this educational movement. Based on this, we also discuss the proposal for a Modeling Math in/from Rural Education, that is, one that takes into account the educational project of the Movement for Rural Education (its pedagogical principles and the specificities of rural territories), which takes into consideration of the conception of Critical Mathematics Education and, finally, that it is conceived in the socio-critical perspective of Modeling Math, which foresees teaching for transformation and social justice.
