Research on Time Delay Effect in Demand Response of Central Air Conditioning
With the growth of China's economy, electricity demand has surged, making efficient demand-side resource utilization essential. However, the randomness of energy consumption has led to increased grid load fluctuations. Building energy use, particularly air conditioning, contributes significantly to this demand. By shutting down chillers, air conditioning systems can aid in peak load reduction during grid demand response. Given the randomness and short duration of these events, air conditioning systems, as large-delay systems, face regulation delays and attenuation. This paper presents a simplified model for calculating time-delay effects in chilled water air conditioning systems and validates the calculation errors. Simulations explore the impact of time-delay on cooling capacity and indoor thermal conditions, emphasizing the variations under different demand response scenarios.
