An Efficient Key Agreement Scheme Without Trusted Third Parties for Vehicle Platoon Fusion

Traditional vehicle platoon negotiation schemes typically rely on trusted third parties (TTPs) and involve complex cryptographic operations, resulting in privacy breaches, time consumption, and significant resource expenditure. In response to above challenges, this paper proposes an efficient key agreement scheme based on Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) for vehicle platoon fusion, which effectively reduces computational complexity. Besides, the proposed scheme enables rapid and efficient authentication and session key negotiation within the platoon, eliminating the need for TTPs. Furthermore, by leveraging the decentralization and cryptographic properties of blockchain technology, it mitigates threats arising from Single Point of Failure (SPoF) and other attacks. Simulation experiments and informal security analysis show that the proposed scheme effectively enhances the security of vehicle-platoon communication while reducing calculation overhead compared to related schemes.
