The Event Database: Enhancing Exam Preparation and Performance Based on Open-Content Subjects Supported by Collective Intelligence

The content of any subject is in the end determined by the events (questions and tasks) themselves including their handling in a broad sense. The events can thus constitute an "executable" model of any teaching subject. Modeling of educational content is precisely what is absent in the era of digital education, despite the fact that modeling is an essential prerequisite for the very implementation in various fields such as civil and architectural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, but also software engineering and, last but not least, specially in post-communist countries with central planning. And it is the approaches applied in the domain of software engineering and the high degree of analogy to this discipline that have prompted reflections on the transformation of knowledge. Educational content identification in the sense of successfully applied approaches from Software Engineering (SE) thus creates an allusion of Educational Content Engineering (ECE). Such a knowledge transfer is a great challenge to the massive concept of sharing of knowledge, skills and competencies and shapes a pleasant, less stressful and specifically more effective environment for students which is confirmed in our evaluation of the approach. Addressing the openness of educational content creation makes sense for a number of reasons. Of course, the perception itself is dependent on the target group for which the educational content is intended. This paper presents educational content identification promotion in the form of event database platform supported by collective intelligence in the way of Open-content subjects. Based on the research question, the paper formulates a hypothesis that is statistically verified. The findings indicate that if the typology of exam questions is known, students have the opportunity to prepare more effectively and achieve better performance.
