Optimizing the output voltage of the SEPIC converter with (PSO) algorithm to ensure output stability under load variations

Output voltage control is essential in designing and operating power converters. Many strategies have been employed to achieve this goal, with particle swarm optimization (PSO) showing wide-ranging potential due to its adaptability to complex characteristics of electrical structures. This paper uses PSO to output voltage control of a SEPIC converter, designed to convert a 10 V input voltage to a constant 24 V output voltage. The PSO algorithm is used to determine the parameters of a proportional-integral (PI) controller, optimize its dynamic response, and improve voltage regulation. The proposed method is simulated in MATLAB/ Simulink, where the results reflect significant voltage gains and the ability to maintain the output voltage balance despite operational and load changes. The output voltage is kept constant, contributing to a major advance in this field. In addition, the system achieves high efficiency in performance under variable operating conditions. Future work may wish to explore hybrid PSO control strategies to further improve the response speed and adaptability of the system. A modified SEPIC converter can also be used to obtain higher voltage gains.
