Integrate Electroadhesion Tactile Feedback With Projected Capacitive Touchscreen Using Semiconductor Coating
This article proposes an antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO) coating solution to address the issue of sharing positioning functions between electroadhesion devices and projected capacitive touchscreen on mobile terminals. By utilizing an ATO semiconductor layer that does not affect the positioning function, this solution enables electroadhesion devices to share the positioning function of the touchscreen. This article also establishes an effective voltage model incorporating four types of impedance and optimizes ATO impedance. Experimental results are obtained for absolute threshold, discrimination threshold, and electroadhesion force, compared with conventional electroadhesion devices, demonstrating that the ATO coating solution is a method for integrating electroadhesion tactile feedback with a projected capacitive touchscreen at the cost of increasing driving voltage.
