Comprehensive framework for Integrated Construction Platforms (ICP) implementation and its effect on project success

The construction sector is one of the key factors in the economic development of a country hence there is still a need to find the most effective ways to improve performance of construction projects. The new opportunities in construction through advanced technologies have provided ways of improving performance in projects through Integrated Construction Platforms (ICPs). However, study on the contribution of ICPs to success in a project has been limited. To fill this gap, this study will explore the major performance attributes of ICPs and their influence on project outcomes. This includes mixed-method research, combining deep literature review, expert practitioner interviews, and a structured survey on construction professionals. The methodology of SEM and EFA is adopted to identify positive strong interrelationship with ICP Performance and overall project success (OPS). The relative relevance and influence on the overall project are underscored by the critical role being played through ICP adoption, wherein strength of impact relationship is at 72 % (B = 0.722). The results of this research are highly significant for the academic field and the construction industry itself, as better project performance and decision-making, with fewer errors, are achieved. The article underscores the necessary criteria that need to be taken up for the successful implementation of ICP in construction projects.
