Tracheal rupture following double lumen tracheal intubation: A case report
This report details the rare but serious complication of tracheal rupture following double-lumen tracheal intubation. The case involved a 65-year-old female undergoing right upper lobe resection for lung cancer. During the procedure, tracheal rupture occurred, complicating ventilation and causing respiratory distress. To address these challenges, a bronchial blocker was used to achieve single-lung ventilation, allowing surgery to continue. Subsequently, two single-lumen tubes were used for tracheal repair, ensuring satisfactory oxygenation and preventing further complications. Postoperatively, tracheal reconstruction angiography was conducted, yielding favorable recovery outcomes. Understanding this case can enhance the knowledge of medical professionals about potential risks and management strategies associated with thoracic surgery. The patient has provided written informed consent for the publication of this case report, including all relevant data and images.
