INTERSEXUALIDADE EM CADELA DA RAÇA PITBULL TERRIER - RELATO DE CASO
Intersexuality is one of the disorders of sexual development that affect animals of various species. The changes occur during sexual differentiation and embryonic development of the reproductive system. Hermaphroditism is an anomaly in which the animal presents ambiguous sexual characteristics. This is an uncommon alteration in dogs, and may present varying degrees of ambiguity of the internal and external genitalia. This paper reports a case of a Pit Bull dog that presented characteristics of hermaphroditism during the period of sexual maturity, which was confirmed through histopathological evaluation as a case of male pseudohermaphroditism and describes the surgical procedure, characterized as the treatment of choice.
