IOT Based Household Appliances Automation System
This paper represents the idea of household appliance automation with a low-cost and wireless system. Modern houses are shifting from the traditional method of manually switching on/off the buttons to the centralized control system, consisting of remote-controlled switches. These days, appliances can be controlled by computer systems or mobile devices rather than manually controlling the devices. This project uses Blynk Cloud and Google Assistant to control custom-made switches. The project integrates Wi-Fi connectivity into the switches themselves, which are seamlessly integrated with Node MCU, hence allowing for simple control of the switches as per the desire of users. You can also manually operate the switches in the event that the internet is not available at the moment. The Blynk application and the open-source IOT platform Node MCU were utilized in the development of this project. The system's low-cost design and interface manage household electrical equipment. The status of devices will be known using the Blynk application and Google Assistant. Also, this system improves the standard and comfort of living at home. Three sensors make up the system: one for water tank level, one for soil moisture, and one for temperature and humidity. The data collected through the sensors will be displayed on Android Blynk application. User can switch on/off the appliances either manually or with the help of Blynk application or Google Assistant. Appliance control is also handled by 4-channel relay modules that are part of this system. This system can be accessed and managed using a Wi-Fi connection on a computer or mobile device by using the Blynk application. Sensor libraries and the Blynk application are used to program the system using the Arduino IDE software.
