Artificial Intelligence and International Crimes Against Humanity: Challenges and Solutions
The expansion of technology that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) has permeated a variety of fields, including international law and human rights. In this essay, the implications of artificial intelligence in the context of international crimes against humanity are investigated. As part of this investigation, both the obstacles and potential solutions that AI brings in this field are evaluated. The dual-use nature of artificial intelligence technologies, their role in expanding surveillance and enforcement capacities, as well as the ethical and legal challenges that are faced by these technologies are brought to light. The use of artificial intelligence in this delicate field raises basic problems regarding the appropriate balance between the progression of technology and the protection of fundamental democratic rights.
