An IoT System for Monitoring and Controlling Microclimates using Fuzzy Logic Applied to a Vermicompost Culture
Incorporating electronics and technology into agriculture is crucial for optimizing agricultural and livestock production. This study presents the implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT) system with fuzzy logic to monitor and control the microclimate of a vermicompost plot at the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo (ESPOCH), adjusting variables such as soil temperature, humidity, and $\mathbf{p H}$. This nonlinear method significantly improves the quality and efficiency of vermicompost production in Ecuador, where manual methods pose challenges regarding time and quality due to the lack of information on environmental variables. The research method involves implementing a fuzzy logic system that collects data through sensors and makes automated decisions displayed in an online system. Using fuzzy logic in IoT systems significantly advances vermicompost research and production, optimizing environmental conditions and reducing reliance on manual control.
