Exploring Generational Perspectives on Restaurant Food Safety and Blockchain Implementation: A Survey Analysis

This paper presents the findings of a comprehensive survey conducted among diverse age groups to investigate their experiences with food consumption outside the home, their perceptions of the need for enhanced food safety measures in restaurants, and their openness towards employing blockchain technology to ensure food security. With the increasing prevalence of dining out, concerns regarding food safety have become paramount. Understanding consumers' attitudes towards these issues is crucial for implementing effective solutions. Our study analyzes responses gathered from participants spanning different age demographics, providing insights into varying perspectives across generations. Results indicate a widespread recognition of the importance of food safety, yet disparities emerge in attitudes towards blockchain as a potential solution. While younger cohorts exhibit greater receptiveness towards blockchain integration, older generations express more skepticism. These findings shed light on the complex interplay between consumer preferences, technological innovation, and food safety practices within the restaurant industry. The implications of these findings are discussed in the context of developing strategies to enhance food safety protocols and harnessing blockchain technology to ensure transparency and trustworthiness in restaurant food supply chains.
