TO EVALUATE THE EFFECT OF CORROSION ON TITANIUM ALLOY IN DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS OF FLUORIDE: AN IN-VITRO STUDY
Purpose: The exceptional qualities of titanium, including its chemical inertness, mechanical strength, low Young's modulus, remarkable corrosion resistance, and outstanding biocompatibility, make it an ideal material for use in biomedical and dental applications. Signicant regional differences in uoride levels can be seen on the geographical representation of India. So the purpose was to evaluate the effect of corrosion on titanium alloys in different concentrations of uoride. Titanium alloy emmersed in articial saliva solutions containing Materials and Method: uoride concentration of 1000PPM, 1040PPM and 2400PPM of uoride. And the corrosion was tested using the electrochemical techniques. Results: The mean values of E and I were assessed for the 3 month and 6 months and additionally the paired T-test and p value was applied. corr corr Overall, the paired t-tests show statistically signicant variations in mean values between different PPM concentration settings for both variables, E and I . Increased susceptibility to corrosion has been seen in titanium alloys due to the impairment of the protective oxide layer Corr Corr Conclusion: by higher concentrations of uoride ions.
