Straight-to-Test Pathway in Faecal Immunochemical Testing (FIT)-Negative Patients: A Cost-Effective Approach
The use of a FIT-negative TTT pathway ensures that any symptomatic patients presenting with red flag symptoms can be investigated appropriately. It also provides reassurance to clinicians who have an ethical duty to investigate patients in whom they suspect sinister pathology. Moreover, a triage-to-Test pathway reduces outpatient capacity burden on healthcare trusts as they may send patients directly for investigation.
