A IMPORTÂNCIA DA AVALIAÇÃO PRÉ ANESTÉSICA EM PACIENTES HOSPITALIZADOS
Introduction: Pre-Anesthetic Assessment (PAA) is essential for preparing surgical patients. Through it, the anesthesiologist has knowledge about the patient's clinical condition and can then safely plan the best anesthetic technique. Objective: much is said about PAA for elective surgical procedure, however, the objective of this study is to highlight the importance of PAA for hospitalized patients. Methodology: this is a literature review study highlighting the importance of PAA. Final considerations: PAA is crucial for the surgical patient, as it allows optimizing the clinical condition and establishing measures that are fundamental to patient safety and, in a certain way, reducing morbidity and mortality, improving the prognosis of the operated patient and reducing costs with surgery pre-operative preparation.
