Elements Of Intertextuality In The Novel Stories Of Efrasiab
The concept of intertextuality began to be theorized around the world, especially since the 1960s, and began to take its place in the field of novels. The thesis that every text is autonomous and that there is no word or expression pattern that has not been said before in the world is one of the basic foundations of this theory. This situation initiates a new process in both the way texts are written and the way they are handled and evaluated. The phenomenon of intertextuality, which permeates almost all fields of art, is the sharing of the knowledge acquired by branches of science such as philosophy, history, geography, physics, chemistry, mathematics, sociology, psychology and arts such as painting, cinema and photography among themselves, and the thickening between newly created texts and works of art. It results in the elimination of walls. While it was previously considered shameful to quote any work openly without citing the source, in texts written with a postmodern approach it becomes one of the basic components of the work and the artist now creates a new composition by placing all the materials he has accumulated on the art ground and begins to produce. Differences between art types begin to disappear, and permeability in terms of aesthetics, theme and subject emerges between texts and works of art created by different disciplines. İhsan Oktay Anar is an author who enjoys applying the elements of intertextuality in almost all of his novels in a mysterious and playful manner. The novel Efrasiyab's Stories also contains many elements in this regard.
