The use of vegetation indices to adjust soil contours in the conditions of arable land in the Kaluga region

Within the scope of this research, the potential of utilizing multi-year vegetation indices obtained through remote sensing was evaluated for refining soil cover structure contours. It was determined that visualizing average multi-year NDVI, GNDVI, EVI, and CVI indices allows for the refinement of current information on the contours of productivity zones. This approach enables the refinement of boundaries between soil variations and the identification of current boundaries of lands with differing productivity. The findings indicate that high average multi-year values of these indices are associated with semi-hydromorphic areas exhibiting increased moisture levels. Keywords: VEGETATION INDICES, REMOTE SENSING, SOIL COVER STRUCTURE

Abstract

Within the scope of this research, the potential of utilizing multi-year vegetation indices obtained through remote sensing was evaluated for refining soil cover structure contours. It was determined that visualizing average multi-year NDVI, GNDVI, EVI, and CVI indices allows for the refinement of current information on the contours of productivity zones. This approach enables the refinement of boundaries between soil variations and the identification of current boundaries of lands with differing productivity. The findings indicate that high average multi-year values of these indices are associated with semi-hydromorphic areas exhibiting increased moisture levels.
