Manipulating Hardness to Construct Favorable Electrode Microstructures for All‐Solid‐State Batteries (Adv. Energy Mater. 42/2024)
All-Solid-State Batteries Emerging cathode materials (chocolate balls) are sometimes softer than solid electrolytes (metallic balls), leading to formation of unfavourable ‘electrolyte-in-active material’ microstructures. By strategically ‘softening’ solid electrolytes and ‘hardening’ redox materials, we show the relative hardness between electrolyte and active material can be reversed, promoting favourable ‘active material-in-electrolyte’ microstructure.
