Combustion Characteristics of Thermoplastic Solid Propellants with Burning Catalysts
In this paper, the combustion characteristics of thermoplastic solid propellant with burning catalyst were analyzed through the ground tests of motors. The cylindrical grains were manufactured through Polyvinyl chloride(PVC)-based thermoplastic propellants with Iron oxide(Fe 2 O 3 and FeOOH) and Copper oxide(CuO) as burning catalysts. The properties of burning catalysts were observed using XRD, BET, FE-SEM and EDS, and then the ground tests were performed to investigate the effect of burning catalysts on the burning rate. .Cylinder Iron oxide (Fe 2 O 3 and FeOOH) Copper oxide (CuO) PVC .
