An improved circuit model for the estimation of the electromagnetic energy coupling throughout aperture into metallic enclosure

The development and exploration of approximate phenomenological models used to calculate the electromagnetic energy coupling throughout apertures into metallic enclosures is presented in this paper. An analytical approach has been established for the calculation of the electric and magnetic shielding effectiveness (SE, SM) a rectangular metallic enclosure with an aperture and conductor in it by means of Robinson's model. With the existence of inductive and capacitive obstacles, the modal technique is to complete the first one to estimate SE and SM exactly taking into consideration the maximum of propagating modes. The results of the SE and SM obtained by the analytical model are validated by the software CST/EMC and the Finite-Difference Time Domain method (FDTD). Very similar results are obtained between these methods.
