Hybrid Access Control Model for an IoT Environment

The Internet of Things (IoT) is emerging as a revolutionary technology, connecting a wide range of smart devices and sensors through wireless networks. However, this proliferation of interconnected devices raises major concerns regarding security and data privacy. Access control plays a crucial role in protecting IoT systems against unauthorized access and privacy breaches. IoT requires more sophisticated access control to protect sensitive information. This underscores the need for a comprehensive access control model that integrates multiple concepts, such as E-UACML. In this article, we propose a formalization of the hybrid access control model E-UACML for IoT using model checking techniques. We describe a formal model that integrates the key aspects of access control, adapting them to the unique constraints and characteristics of IoT devices.
