Developing a User-Friendly Flutter-Based Mobile App for Integrating NDN with IoT Systems

This paper presents the development of a mobile application designed to integrate Named Data Networking (NDN) with Internet of Things (IoT) systems. Despite the significant advantages of NDN, including enhanced security and efficient data dissemination, its adoption has been largely limited to academic settings. This paper aims to bridge the gap by creating a user-friendly and visually appealing Flutter-based mobile app that simplifies the configuration and management of NDN-enabled IoT devices. The app leverages the cross-platform capabilities of Flutter and incorporates native NDN libraries to provide a seamless user experience. We detail the app’s architecture, implementation process, and key features, demonstrating its potential to enhance the usability and accessibility of NDN in everyday IoT applications. This work not only highlights the practical benefits of NDN but also sets the stage for broader acceptance and deployment of NDN technology in real-world scenarios.
