El cerro del castillo de Capilla (Capilla, Badajoz): uso y circulación de moneda medieval y moderna

The different excavation campaigns at cerro of castillo de Capilla have yielded a total of 51 coins of a wide chronology. These coins have been documented using the stratigraphic method, which makes it possible to identify what type of coins circulated in each of the phases of occupation identified at the site. A diachronic analysis of this numismatic material allows us to understand some key aspects of the use and circulation of coins in medieval and modern times in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, where there are no numismatic studies with a stratigraphic basis for these periods.
