WASTEWATER TREATMENT FROM PHENOL BY SORPTION WITH CARBON-FIBRE FILTERING MATERIAL
The article presents methods for reducing the concentration of fine suspended solids in wastewater, and the process of sorption of organic pollutants by carbon-sorbing material is carried out. Spectral analysis of treated water sample was performed, linear infrared spectrum was compiled. Based on the results of the research a block diagram of wastewater treatment from pollutants in the coal tar processing process was proposed. Aims of research: to reduce the concentration of phenol and chemical oxygen demand index in wastewater up to normative parameters permissible for discharge into the Centralised Water Disposal System of settlements and urban districts, to formulate a proposal for wastewater treatment of the process of coal tar processing from pollutants and make a block diagram of treatment. Objectives of the work: to carry out wastewater treatment from fine suspended solids; to consider the sorption method of wastewater treatment from phenols using carbon-fibre material; to conduct wastewater treatment and based on the results of the study to propose a block diagram of wastewater treatment from pollutants. Object of study – wastewater of the process of coal tar processing.
