Exploration of Feedback Measurement Scales for National Team Athletes : Application of the Rasch Rating Scale Model

This study explored feedback measurement scale for national athlete utilizing Rasch rating scale model. The 166(men=96; women=70) Korean national athlete were surveyed. Winsteps 5.8.0 and R 4.4.1 programs were used to analyze the data. The results were as follow. First, the number of response categories was more appropriate to masure with 4 points than with 5 points. Second, in the exploration of item difficulty, item 4 was the most difficult for national athlete, and item 15 was least difficult. Third, in the exploration of item suitability, three items (item 1, item 16, item 22) were inappropriate items that caused confusion in responding to national athlete. Fourth, in the analysis of differential item functioning the item 13 that induced men to select lower response categories than women. Fifth, the person and item map showed the final 18-item, 4-point scale explored in this study had no problems in measuring the feedback attributes of national athletes.
