LEONID KARATEEV AND THE ROLE OF THE COMBINE OF DECORATIVE AND APPLIED ARTS IN THE FORMATION OF THE ARTISTIC ENVIRONMENT OF LENINGRAD

One of the current tasks of modern art criticism is the discovery of personalities associated with the popularisation and development of the art industry. Within the frame- work of this article, the biography of Leonid Karateev, an artist, responsible secretary of the Leningrad Union of Artists, and his role in the development of the Combine of Decorative and Applied Arts and art industry of Leningrad will be considered.
