THE HISTORY OF LENINGRAD EDUCATION IN THE FIELD OF ART: PORTRAITS OF THE FIRST DEANS OF THE ART AND GRAPHIC FACULTY OF THE LENINGRAD HERZEN PEDAGOGICAL INSTITUTE

The history of the first years of the Art and Graphic Faculty of the Leningrad Herzen Pedagogical Institute in the early 1960s is of independent scientific interest. The main vector of development during this period was determined. It is associated with the strengthening of the creative component of teaching of drawing, painting and art history within the framework of the educational programmes for training of drawing teachers. The change of deans of the faculty demonstrates the transition from the engineering and technological understanding of preparation to the expansion of its artistic content. The review of activities of the first acting deans of the faculty - Viktor Evteev, Valentin Kobzarev and Alexander Chumachenko - illustrates this idea in the paper.
