THE SPECIFICITY OF REFRACTION OF MUSICAL TRADITION IN MA SIСONG’S ARRANGEMENT OF “THE SONG OF LONGING FOR THE HOMELAND” FOR VIOLIN AND PIANO
In the 20th century, along with the large-scale influx of Western culture into China, European musical instruments became widespread. Chinese composers have created many works for them. The purpose of the article is to study the assimilation of the intonation and compositional experience of the East in the genre of musical adaptation. In the analysis of Ma Sicong’s piece written for violin and piano, attention is paid to the synthesis of folk Chinese elements and violin performing techniques. The development of the latter aspect emphasises the relevance of this article. It is shown that the techniques of musical and stylistic recreation of the sound image of Chinese traditional vocal and instrumental intonation on the violin clearly demonstrate Chinese specifics.
