SAINT PETERSBURG SOCIETY OF FRIENDS OF MUSIC: THE HISTORY OF THE FOUNDATION OF THE ASSOCIATION

He article is dedicated to the Society of Friends of Music founded in 1908 in Saint Petersburg. Operating until 1921, the Society was actively engaged in educational activities, presented concerts of students of private music schools, lectures, gatherings. The main goal was to help musicians of different professions. Based on the documents of the Society of Friends of Music and its founders, the article examines the stage of creation of the new community, defines the role of Nikolai Findeisen in the formation and development of the association, and highlights the tasks that were discussed at the first meetings of the Society.
