3 μm mid-infrared compact intracavity optical parametric oscillator based on KTA and MgO:PPLN
Abstract Mid-infrared (MIR) laser of 3 μ m are extremely valuable in many applications. A miniaturized compact intracavity optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on a well-established 1 μ m pump laser has achieved MIR radiation of 3.47 μ m and 3 μ m, respectively. The 3.47 μ m idler laser with a maximum power of 3.65 W and the 3 μ m with a maximum power of 3 W was generated using KTA-OPO and MgO:PPLN-OPO, respectively. The compactness and stability of the device were verified, which can be further used to realize the parametric down-conversion of novel nonlinear crystals, which is expected to realize the effective expansion of long-wave MIR generation.
