Impact of Medial Thighplasty on Self-Perception and Body Image After Post-Bariatric Massive Weight Loss
Consistent with previous studies, MT yields positive outcomes regarding physical well-being. This study further highlights the procedure's benefits for self-acceptance, body contact, sexuality, and self-esteem. Patients with expectations of improvements in vitality, or mental health concerns like depression or anxiety, should be carefully selected and may benefit from multidisciplinary care, including psychiatry or psychological support, to avoid dissatisfaction with post-surgical outcomes.
